General Superintendent
Seeking an experienced and organized professional to manage the day-to-day obligations of our jobs, crews, and locations. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of office and field operations, strategic operations initiatives, logistics management, and is comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment.
The Superintendent must have excellent communication skills, the ability to stick to tight timelines, be comfortable dealing with a variety of individuals including vendors, customers and senior management and have a willingness to learn about all facets of growing our brand.
The Superintendent’s responsibility is to supervise the field construction of a project and to complete the work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. In the performance of this function, it is the Superintendent’s responsibility to protect and promote AAA Roofing’s best interests in all matters and do whatever is necessary to discharge their duties and responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, the following:
Duties
- To supply leadership, to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships and to promote a positive project morale.
- To have a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the roofing contract, each Subcontract, the contract drawings, specifications, and addenda, and to assist the Project Manager in the development of the on-site procedures.
- To examine the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details, and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager who will review them with the General Contractor.
- To assist the Project Manager in scheduling in the development and refinement of the Project Schedule, and to work with the Project Manager to keep the schedules properly updated, and to see that the job meets the various required dates.
- To plan and review the Construction Program with the Project Manager including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, location, and layout, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
- To coordinate, direct, monitor, and with the Site Superintendent(s) and the technical coordinators, (project specific as required) inspect the activities of the Subcontractors, Suppliers and AAA Roofing’s labor and material.
- To verify that each Subcontractor has completed their contractual requirements as a condition precedent to beginning his work at the jobsite. This includes a certificate of insurance, a fully executed Subcontract and a Safety Program.
- To assure that a sufficient supply of the proper AAA Roofing’s report forms, a tablet, measuring tape and other required incidentals are at hand.
- To see that all required permits or licenses have been obtained, and that a weatherproof bulletin board is installed on which all required safety notices are posted.
- To cooperate with, and direct, when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies, and to effect remedial actions indicated by the reports of these agencies.
- To chair weekly coordination meetings and weekly safety meetings with the AAA Roofing’s field employees. Issue typewritten minutes to the Safety Manager for safety and progress measures for the Project Manager.
- To receive and review the subcontractors’ weekly reports
- To review and approve, on a weekly basis, all as built prints.
- To review and approve all time and material work vouchers and invoices.
- To maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project including the public.
- Start punch list, AAA is to go to a Zero punch list.
- Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Check weekly time entries to ensure accuracy of hours.
- Order materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be computer savvy.
- Excellent communication skills
- Bilingual (English/ Spanish).
- Ability to use different technologies.
- Ability to travel (60 to 80%).
- Strong ability to lead a team and delegate tasks as needed.
- 10 years of industrial or commercial construction supervision experience.
- OSHA 30 required.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a business casual office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Job also requires job site visits that include outdoor environment conditions.
Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distant vision. Position may also be exposed to heights or confined spaces.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried exempt position. Typical standard operating hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Travel:
Travel is required for this position.
