
Flat Roofing Foreman

Essential Duties: Foreman are responsible for running crews and the removal and application of roofing (single ply, built-up, modified bitumen, shingles, pavers, ballast, shakes, etc.). Leading, assisting, and training crew in maintenance and use of equipment and tools required in the roofing industry, including hot tar kettles, driving of vehicles (pickups, trucks, forklifts, etc.), and using hand tools —other duties as assigned. Serving as liaison between Contractor and FRRS.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to lift 11-20lbs continuously, 26-50lbs. Frequently and 51-100lbs occasionally. Employees are often in a squatted or kneeling position. Single ply roofing will require working in conjunction with other employees moving roll goods in weight up to 1,000 pounds. Must have dexterous use of both hands. Must have balance and knee/ankle control due to ladder-climbing while wearing a tool belt and walking on roofs (occasionally on a slope). This is strenuous work requiring good or corrected vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and the ability to work on a roof varying in height may exceed 20’ in the air during cold (0°C) and hot (in excess of 100°C) weather, wind, and rain. Worksite conditions and environment consists of fumes/dust/dirt sharp tools and slick flooring. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment, which will be provided by the company (i.e. long sleeve shirt, gloves, face shields, hard hats, safety glasses, fall-protection equipment, and hearing protection).
Experience: 2 years experience as a leadman and experience is single-ply application. Must have Highschool Diploma, a valid Drivers License, and speak English to interact with Customers and GCs. Special Skills: OHSA-10 hour and CPR/First Aid certifications preferred. The following experience is highly desirable: rigging & flagging, reach forklift & boom lift training; single-ply: EPDM, single-ply: TPO/PVC; Single-ply: specialties; BUR: hot asphalt; BUR: cold applied; BUR: specialties; CERTA trained.
