Job Summary

The Sheet Metal Fabricator / Installer is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing metal components according to technical specifications and safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, precision measurement skills, and the ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Assembly

Cut, bend, and shape metal materials using machinery such as shears, press brakes, rollers, and CNC equipment.
Assemble fabricated parts using welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering techniques.
Blueprint Reading

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine material requirements and fabrication processes.
Welding & Joining

Join metal components using appropriate methods such as welding, fastening, riveting, or soldering while ensuring structural integrity.
Measurement & Precision

Accurately measure and mark layout lines on metal sheets and components.
Ensure all parts meet specified tolerances and dimensions.
Quality Inspection

Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
Installation

Install fabricated products such as ductwork, roofing, siding, and other sheet metal components in commercial and residential buildings.
Ensure proper alignment, fit, and secure fastening during installation.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of metal properties, fabrication methods, and industry best practices.
Tool Proficiency

Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, fabrication machinery, and CNC equipment.
Physical Stamina

Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
Capable of standing for extended periods and working in varying weather or job site conditions.
Math Skills

Strong mathematical skills for measuring, calculating material quantities, and laying out parts accurately.
